The Evolution Towards High-Performance LANs and MANs

Zahlreiche nützliche Anwendungen werden erst möglich sein durch die flächendeckende Bereitstellung der nächsten oder übernächsten Generation von Techniken und Systemen. Wie bei allen technischen Entwicklungen ist mit einer Akzeptanz der neuen Techniken nur zu rechnen, wenn die technischen Lösungen auch die wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Randbedingungen in ausreichendem Maße berücksichtigen: Auch dieser Fortschritt muß bezahlbar und beherrschbar sein!
