Application of perturbation method to stochastic seismic response analysis of buried pipeline with corrosion

As the soil around the pipeline and the conveying material are undetermined,the corrosion state of buried pipeline is stochastic.As a result,the seismic response of buried pipeline is stochastic.In this paper,on the basis of the corrosion model of pipeline and elastic foundation beam method,the perturbation method is applied to calculate the mean and standard deviation of pipeline seismic response.Also,Monte Carlo simulation method is used to validate above method.The comparison results show that the perturbation method is efficient and precise in the stochastic analysis of pipeline seismic responses.
