Adaptive Cooperative Error Control Mechanism with Multiple Relays for Wireless Sensor Networks

This paper propose an adaptive cooperative error control with multiple relays based on energy efficiency of wireless sensor networks and communication distance, which could obtain high energy efficiency, saturation throughput rate and reliable transmission at the same time.According to the energy efficiency characteristics of traditional ARQ,Chase combining hybrid ARQ and the discipline of network layer packets divided into some link layer frames,a Markov chain model for analyzing the saturation throughput rate, packet dropping probability, average delay and energy efficiency was built. An adaptive cooperative error control was established based on the Markov model, additionally the above performance of the proposed protocol and the traditional ARQ and Chase combining hybrid ARQ would also be analyzed based on such model. With a linear and mobile WSNs model, the communication performance of the Chase combining hybrid ARQ,traditional ARQ and the proposed mechanism were discussed and compared. The mathematical analysis show that the proposed mechanism could perform better in terms of saturation throughput rate, reliability and energy efficiency when compared with the traditional ARQ and Chase combining hybrid ARQ.
