Stability of asynchronous dynamical systems with rate constraints and applications

A class of asynchronous dynamical systems with rate constraints that is a modification of the class defined by Hassibi et al. (1999) is introduced. A numerical procedure for a quadratic stability analysis, based on a combination of LMI and a genetic algorithm is proposed. Applications to networked control systems with packet dropout and to convergence of asynchronous fixed point iterations are described. The results obtained are put in perspective as well as compared with those obtained earlier in the literature.
