Filtrage perceptuel pyramidal

In this paper a perceptual multiresolution scheme based on human visual system model is proposed. The main idea is to detect and remove the perceptual irrelevant structures at di↵erent scales using the JNC (Just noticeable contrast) and the notion of luminance adaptation. Thi processing is based on the Laplacian and Gaussian pyramid decompositions of the image as proposed by Burt and Adelson. The e↵ectiveness of the developped method is evaluated on gray-level images.
