IoT agro-meteorology for viticulture disease warning

Agricultural plants are extremely sensitive to climate change, because higher temperatures and changes in precipitation patterns increase the likelihood of diseases, which can lead to crop failures and irreversible damage to plants. Furthermore, the necessity of support for precision farming in cultivation, quality evaluation, disease treatment and control of agricultural products harvesting time is increasing. This paper presents an IoT platform for remote monitoring in viticulture applications. The main contribution of this paper consists in the presentation of the measurement results in Romanian vineyards during a period of two years. Finally, the extension of the proposed system for other agriculture applications is discussed.
