Some experimental studies of a single basin solar still

Abstract This technical note consists of experimental results carried out on a single basin solar still under various modes of operation. The variation of daily distillate with water mass and salinity has been measured for an uncoupled still. The thermosyphon and forced circulation modes were also studied. The best performance was found in the case of the coupled still under forced circulation using film distillation. The effect of dye was also observed.
