형상기억합금을 이용한 초소형 공작물 클램핑 시스템에 관한 연구

Recently, new demands in the fabrication of meso/micro products have appeared, such as the manufacture of micro-structures and micro-components with 3D complex shapes in IT, BT sectors. In addition, micro-factory, which consists of micro-machine tools, has been developed to manufacture the miniature/micro products efficiently. This paper describes a miniatured fixture system for micro scale workpiece. The proposed fixture system employs the recovery stress of shape memory alloys to develop chucking forces, so its structure is much simpler than traditional fixture system such as screw-type chucks and hydraulic chucks. In this paper, the operating principle is introduced. In addition, as a preliminary study, operating strokes of the fixture system was investigated.
