Analysis of ultrasound Doppler velocimeter signals using a personal computer

Abstract A method for the rapid on-line analysis of Doppler signals obtained transcutaneously by continuous wave ultrasound is described. The system, which employs a digital spectrum analyser and a personal microcomputer, calculates and displays pulsatility index derived from either the maximum or the mean frequency envelopes. Storing reduced data in the form of standardized waveforms provides for a posteriori analysis.
