Decoupling of a two-element switched dual band patch antenna for optimum MIMO capacity

In this work the design of a spatial diversity antenna that can be used as an access point in a wireless LAN configuration is described. The design is focused mainly on the circuit which simultaneously matches and decouples two closely spaced patch antennas operating at two different frequencies. It is shown by means of simulation that the capacity of the system by decoupling the antennas increases significantly which makes this design interesting for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) applications
