Reconsideraciones en torno a Uaymitún, Yucatán. Los yaquis y las condiciones laborales en el exilio

An archeological rescue in the mid-nineties of the last century of a few bones found in Uaymitun, Yucatan resulted in an analysis of the living conditions of the farmers in the field and those dedicated to the collection of salt on the Yucatan coast. Among these ethnic groups were the Yaqui Indians, from Sonora. They were deported from Sonora in 1900. In Yucatan, the exiles were scattered in henequen plantations, sugar mills and salt ranches, as was Uaymitun. Here we address the working conditions in the fields, highlighting the situation of the deported Yaquis, using the methodological tools of physical anthropology and historiography.
