NorwayspendsmoreonpublichealthcareperpersonthananyotherEuropeancountry.Thegovernment andtheNorwegianhealthauthoritiesarecommittedtoimprovingthecountry’shealthcareservice through the use of innovative information and communication technology, generally referred to asehealth.Society inNorwaybenefits froman integratedehealthcaresystemwhere thepatient isatitscentreregardlessoftheperson’slevelofincomeorgeographicallocation.Thelong-term nationalehealthstrategy“onecitizen–onerecord”isthebasisforallehealthnationalstrategiesand initiatives.Withitschallenginggeographicalenvironmentandageingpopulation,telemedicineand otherehealthdevelopmentssuchaseprescriptionandelectronichealthrecords(EHR)areimportant toolsinsuccessfullyimplementingnewehealthreformsthatcontinuetoimpactsocietyinNorway.
