Variational theory of bubbly media with a distribution of bubble sizes—II. Porous solids

Abstract A variational theory for a bubbly liquid is extended to obtain a theory for a porous solid medium saturated by a bubbly liquid with a continuous distribution of bubble sizes. The theory is linearized and used to determine the phase velocity and attenuation of acoustic waves.
