Influence of anisotropy of magnetic material on the saturation harmonics in the three-phase induction motor

A method is presented for analyzing the influence of the anisotropy of magnetic material on the fundamental and higher space and saturation harmonics. The field is calculated by a finite-element method at steady-state for different points in time, assuming sinusoidal magnetizing current and with direction-dependent B-H characteristics. The higher harmonics of the air-gap field are obtained by double Fourier analysis. Some results for variable saturation levels with and without anisotropy are reported. >
