Multimodality offers more flexibility for interaction and is thus a promising avenue for mobile systems. Indeed the context of use of mobile systems is by definition variable including different physical (e.g. noise) and social (e.g. intimacy) contexts of use. Multimodal interaction with the flexibility it offers to the user is therefore a good candidate for mobile systems. Several studies focus on mobile and multimodal systems but few of them relate them to usability experiments. In this article, we present the design of a mobile and multimodal system, RAZZLE, by applying our mixed interaction model and then its ergonomic evaluation. Our aim was to assess the multimodal interaction for a mobile user.
