An ABR Flow Control Extend EFCI Scheme with Information of Queue Length

In this paper we present a new EFCI based ABR flow control algorithm——E-EFCI.The main idea of this algorithm is to extend EFCI's function,and makes it not only indicate the congestion status,but also indicate the queue status. The transfer of queue length information is implemented by setting EFCI according to the queue length of the switch. The result of simulation indicates that the new algorithm has better real-time control ability than basic EFCI algorithm. It has lower oscillation amplitude of ACR and queue length, higher link,buffer utilization rate, faster relieve congestion and better cost/ performance.
