Silicon Photonics in Optical Coherent Systems

Optical coherent systems utilize the magnitude, phase, and polarization of light for high-speed communication, and have benefitted greatly from photonic integrated circuits. This paper discusses the state-of-the-art in silicon coherent transceivers and their future directions.
