LSB coded hybrid frequency phase shift keying

An LSB coded 8 PSK scheme was previosuly proposed, and achieved a 0.3 dB coding gain at a BER of 10/sup -5/. It also saved a 26% bandwidth in comparison to uncoded QPSK. The authors demonstrate an least significant bit (LSB) coded HFPSK scheme, and the analysis of its performance is provided. The result of analysis shows that a 7/8 LSB coded 16, 32ary HFPSK scheme achieves better coding gain and spectral efficiency than the 8 PSK scheme.
