Application of simple method on aircraft stabilizer's spindle structural design

In order to deal with the structural synthesis design on fighter stabilizer's spindle,we utilized engineer-ing beam theory to construct this mechanic model,also regarded size variable and coordinate variable as two design spaces’variables.Meanwhile,we combined approximate function with golden section method to do size optimization.Then,simple method proposed by Nelder Mead was used for the geometry optimization.Finally,we optimized this problem in two spaces alternately until the iterations acquired convergence.Practical engineering example results showed that the posed method had good effect on stabilizer's spindle structure design comparing with experienced design approach.
