Penstock of Young-ju dam consists of complex branch and specials pipe that are composed by main conduit pipe(Φ2200), three (Φ2200, Φ1350, Φ800) steel penstock detached from main conduit pipe and emergency conduit pipe(Φ 900) for water supply in the downstream river. Also, according to the situation of water level hydraulic turbines were planned to drive in a variety of ways. Therefore, thorough prior review of piping durability, noise and vibration due to abnormal fluid flow and cavitation is required. In this paper, we aimed to verify the stability on the penstcok using CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis of fluid flow and cavitation curve.
