An Essay on the Role of Government for Odr: Theoretical Considerations About the Future of Odr

The article explains reasons why governmental regulation of online dispute resolution (ODR) would be so beneficial. Essentially, in order to maximize the benefits of the ODR model, the author believes that the government can and should regulate the practice. This article is different from most articles regarding ODR in the sense that it embraces the notion of governmental regulation of ODR. Most proponents of ODR resist government regulation; ODR is treated as more of a business service.
