Optical add/drop multiplexer with asymmetric bandwidth allocation and dispersion compensation hybrid 10-Gb/s and 40-Gb/s DWDM transmission

We experimentally demonstrate a novel OADM having asymmetric bandwidth to optimally support hybrid 10-Gb/s and 40-Gb/s DWDM transmission with 50-GHz spacing. 10-Gb/s RZ-OOK and 40-Gb/s DPSK signals are passed through multiple OADMs with moderate penalty.
