A Novel Nonlinear Adaptive Excitation Controller for Synchronous Generator

Recently a new adaptive mechanism was presented in the framework of system immersion and manifold invariance, i.e., I&I. For nonlinear systems in feedback form, I&I adaptive control provides an alternative to adaptive back stepping approach. Based on I&I adaptive approach, we design a novel nonlinear adaptive excitation controller for synchronous generator, where the model of single machine infinite bus system is used, and damping coefficient is considered to be unknown. And then a test case is conducted by PSCAD/EMTDC to show the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
