Image Reference and Instruction for Film Studies:

Film studies scholars rely on still images of film for teaching and research. However, two surveys administered to film and media studies graduate students at Indiana University in Bloomington showed that users are not always aware of library resources in this area. Many also requested further instruction in searching and using film stills, especially for publishing. This article discusses the research guide and workshop that the author created specifically for these users and addresses key issues in film still retrieval and use.
