Flux distribution and loss in a 100 kV A 3-phase wound amorphous transformer core

Abstract A 3-phase, 5-limb transformer core was built using four wound and cut amorphous cores to demonstrate a substantial energy saving. Fundamental and third harmonic components of flux were measured in selected regions of the core. Total core loss of the transformer was measured for a range of core flux densities.
