Towards marketing of functionality: insights from Michelin and Hilti

Building on the insights derived from two stories namely Michelin and Hilti, this work outlines the economy of functionality and sketches out avenues of contribution to marketing. Functional economy is based on the principle that companies have to help customers to get a job done in optimal conditions. Therefore, it contrasts with the classical approach in marketing of selling goods to customers.
