SummaryThe principal aspects governing the research activities in mechanical woodworking are dealt with. A basic knowledge of the technology within the mechanical woodworking is gradually growing up making the machines, tools, and the process itself more effective. Far too little attention has hitherto been paid to the system man-machine, and there is a lot to achieve by getting a better co-ordination in this relationship. Further, the efforts to reduce the waste or to convert the waste wood to a shape more suitable for industrial use are striking.
