Optimization Design of Overheating Alarm C-Type Clip Based on Heat Transfer Analysis

C-type Clip is a class of connection fittings used for outdoor power distribution equipment and is suitable for the connecting aerial cable with equipment and switch branches. As the monitoring part on the C-type Clip, the currently Overheating Alarm Device still exist some problems. For example, the pop-up device will become unreliable after using too much times. These problems can be solved by using the characteristic of the ferrite soft magnetic material, which can contribute to ejecting and recycling alarm devices. This kind of material will lose the magnetic when achieving the Curie temperature and recover the magnetic when its temperature is lower than the Curie temperature. Use SolidWorks to model the improved Overheating Alarm Device and use ANSYS software to simulate the temperature distribution of ferrite soft magnetic material in a certain period of time. Compared with the reliability of original device, the result of optimization and improvement shows that the reliability of improved device has reached from 80% to 95%.
