Reducing State Overshoot of Switched Linear Systems

Switching among multiple controllers is potentially powerful in improving the transient performance of dynamical systems. In this work, we extend our previous work on minimum overshooting of switched linear systems through proper design of switching laws. For stabilizable discrete time switched linear systems, we propose a semi-decidable design algorithm to achieve stability while reducing the state overshoot. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed schemes.
