A Novel Architecture for Production of Glance-Friendly Online Documents Using Semiformal Approach

In this work, structured online document with standardized page layout is chosen and they are converted in such a way it helps the user to quickly decide whether the document has the necessary information they seek with minimal cognitive effort. The work deals with structured documents available in the Internet and in portable document format (PDF) file format. In an effort to convert documents in a systemic way, a novel Glance Jig architecture is proposed. In order to validate the concept, a technical article in PDF format is chosen and a systematic conversion is carried out to produce bandwidth-efficient glance-friendly document.
