Fast triangulation method with step outside strategy

To generate triangle mesh from scattered point cloud is one of key technologies of reverse engineering and computer modeling. In this paper, a new triangulation method is proposed that point sampling and triangle mesh generation are treated as a whole. Thanks to the high density of point cloud, our method can be implemented with a step out strategy. All the vertexes of the result triangular mesh model are from the original point cloud. Also, the mesh can represent object with different resolutions. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented approach.
