Multi-Objective Optimization of Weapon-Target Assignment (WTA) Using NSGA-II

This paper applies multi-objective genetic algorithm—NSGAⅡ(Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm Ⅱ) to solve weapon-target allocation(WTA) problems.Firstly,to revise the one-sidedness of previous work at establishing the optimization model of WTA problems, this paper views WTA problems as multiobjective optimization problems, then a dual-objective optimization model of WTA considering the combat effectiveness and the defense effectiveness synthetically is built.Secondly,on the basis of this optimization model, the NSGA-Ⅱ is introduced and employed to solve WTA problems. Finally, this paper performs simulation to testify the application of the NSGA-Ⅱ to WTA problems, and simulation results indicate that the NSGA-Ⅱ is capable of finding the Pareto-optimal solution set of WTA problems quickly;hence, this paper provides an effective approach to solve the multi-objective optimization WTA problem.
