Development of Knowledge Based Forging Die Design System for Flanges

The aim of the present work is to study computer aided design of flange. This is done by analyzing the elements of design and knowledge experience, establishing knowledge bases, using Visual Basic to link knowledge bases and Solid Works as a CAD program. This system is experimental. The results indicate that the benefits of using this system to save time and effort and reduce errors caused by designers and improving the design quality.
