건축공사의 포장재 및 보양재에 의한 폐기물 발생현황 분석

Modern society has pursued better quality of life and more pleasant living environment in combination with economic growth and industrial developments. On the other side of the coin, our environment in general including air quality has deteriorated under the weight of increase in industrial wastes and emission of other pollutants. According to “2007 National Statistics on Wastes Production & Disposal”, construction wastes account for the biggest portion or 51.02% of aggregate wastes produced nationwide. Furthermore, customer expectation of better quality of apartment housing coupled with apartment housing construction boom in Korea has resulted in demands for premium apartment housing units and increase in a variety of interior finishing materials in terms of both quantity and quality, which has led to rise in the consumption of packaging and protection materials and production of more than necessary construction wastes consequently. Against the backdrop, this paper is intended to analyze construction wastes produced from packaging and protection materials used in construction projects and designed to provide inputs for follow-up studies of systematic construction waste management strategy as well as subsequent efforts to reduce construction wastes traced to packaging and protection materials.
