Optimization of graphene/silicon heterojunction solar cells

Optimization methods, including layer number modulation, graphene work function, and antireflection film addition, are proposed to improve the performance of graphene/semiconductor heterojunction solar cells. Simulation results demonstrate that a maximal conversion efficiency of ~11% can be achieved. Schottky junction solar cells based on modified graphene films and silicon pillar arrays have been fabricated and are found to deliver enhanced cell performance with efficiencies up to 5.5%.
