The Design and Implementation of User's Environment of Parallel Computer

With the fast development of computer technology, the design of user's environments of parallel computer is a challenging problem. It is the user's desktop for parallel computer. The quality of user's environment will impact the development and application of high performance machines. In this paper, several current design schemes of user's environment of parallel computer are discussed and many problems that exist in the designing and using aspects are presented. These problems are analyzed according to three model principle of user's interface design, which is composed of implementation model, manifest model, and conceptual model. Their solutions are investigated in two phases: interface design and system design. In the process of interface design, the problems concerning user's conceptual model are solved respectively. The solutions of problems concerning the reusability are discussed in the process of system design. Then, this paper gives the design and implement of the user's environment of Dawning 2000Ⅱ. It inspects the scalability of system size and functions of user's environment, the portability, the resource demands and the introduction of technologies widely used on the platform of PC. Finally, the scalability of the architecture of user's environment is discussed.
