High-strength lightweight concrete has economic advantages like to reduce costs by reducing the dead load of structure. But High-strength lightweight concrete have character of brittle failure. So such a character pose safety problem and it was difficult to apply easily at structures. These objectives of study are to examine that variables have influence on the shear behavior of reinforced concrete members. In general,shear strength of high-strength lightweight concrete beams are depend on shear span-depth ratio and web reinforcement. In shear test, twelve high-strength lightweight concrete beams with three variables were tested to investigate shear behavior and detemrine their shear capacity. As a result of test, the shear strength of high-strength lightweight concrete is lower than that of high-strength normal concrete. The high-strength lightweight concrete specimen showed more brittle failure than high-strength normal concrete specimen.
