The invention provides a serial port communication system based on the LabVIEW passive receiving type. The serial port communication system comprises an external communication module, a trigger module, a serial port base communication module, a data detecting and re-detecting module and a data storage module. The external communication module and an external controller achieve communication through two shared variables, the trigger module carries out judgment according to a trigger shared variable data valve sent in by the external communication module, and the serial port base communication module comprises an initialization module, a data transmission and processing module and a data receiving module. The data detecting and re-detecting module judges whether the data type and the length of received data are the same as the data type and the length set by a testing instrument, and the data storage module stores the data which is qualified by judging of the data detecting and re-detecting module. According to the system, only corresponding serial port parameters need to be set for displaying data collected by hardware, the collected data can be stored and replayed in real time, and research on the collected data in the future can be convenient. Tests show that the stability and the reliability of the system are high.
