Attitude Correction Method in DOA Estimation of Single Vector Hydrophone

In the actual ocean environment, the vector hydrophone affected by the current and other effects will occur pitching, rotation and other posture changes, which will have a negative impact on the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation. In this paper, we propose to use the compass heading angle data to correct the velocity data of the vector hydrophone to achieve the purpose of attitude correction, and then use the cross spectrum weighted histogram method to estimate the target azimuth. The method can take full advantage of high-speed compass data and average periodogram processing gain. Computer simulation and sea experiment data processing results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
