A Semi-Deterministic Path Loss Model at a frequency of 73 GHz in Urban Area

This paper presents a semi-deterministic path loss model for high band frequency of 5G wireless in an urban area. Propagation path routes on 2D map are mainly classified into line of sight (LOS) and non-line of sight (NLOS). The NLOS consists of three routes namely, transverse, lateral and staircase. Their path loss models have three terms including six arbitrary constants. These arbitrary constants include the diffraction and reflection of the building block. However path losses of these NLOS routes can be combined with a single formula by adding correction factors. These make the path loss model has fully five terms and seven arbitrary constants. The path loss models were fitted with measured path loss data at a frequency of 73 GHz in order to find the arbitrary constants. The proposed model can be used for planning wireless networks in specific urban area.
