A New Ratio-based Selection Adaptive Subcarrier Allocation Algorithm

A new sub-optimal subcarrier allocation algorithm named "ratio-based selection" (RBS) is proposed. In multiuser OFDM system, almost all present sub-optimal allocation algorithms which allocate subcarriers according to the "best channel gain" rule will allocate some subcarriers to the users who are in deep fading. However RBS algorithm avoids this situation by allocating subcarriers according to the "ratio" vector that is equal to the maximum channel gain over the second maximum channel gain of each subcarrier. Simulation shows that RBS algorithm can obtain rather better performance with relatively lower computation complexity
