Technical possibilities for adaptation of waste chutes for solid waste separation

The paper presents possibilities of adaptation of existing waste chutes in multi-floor buildings to the requirements of applicable Act on waste and Act on maintaining cleanliness and order in communes. It shows an innovative approach to waste segregation in existing multi-floor buildings. In the main part of the paper some examples of segregation equipment designed for currently existing waste chutes, that use pneumatic and hydraulic systems to drive operating mechanisms, are presented. In conclusion, a short comparison between described solutions is given.
