Analysis of Mass Customization Based on Value-Cost Model

Mass customization aims at satisfying the needs of diverse customer and keeping the efficiency of mass production.As to the problem on determining proper tradeoff between those two contradictories,this paper proposed a quantitative method and some concepts: value index based on customer satisfaction and cost index based on learning curve.A value-cost model is built to analyze the mass customization mode and also compare it with other modes.This model revealed the essence of the mass customization in a quantitative way.
