STUDY OF THE NICKEL-ZIRCONIUM-HYDROGEN SYSTEM

The behavior of intermetallic compounds of the nickelzirconium system with hydrogen was studied by x-raydiffraction techniques and by the measurement of hydrogen absorption. It was found that only NiZr and possibly Ni/sub 10/Zr/ sub 7/ form new hydrides. The other intermetallic compounds in this system either do not absorb signiflcant quantities of hydrogen, or decompose on hydriding. (auth)
