A Robust Cluster Based Approach for Image Restoration

This paper, which is work in progress, describes a new cluster based approach for Image restoration applications. The existing and the past solutions to Image restoration problem has always concentrated on single uniprocessor machines. This has become a major hurdle for large images as well as motion picture which requires large portions to be rendered at a faster rate. We propose a cluster based approach to image restoration problem which parallelizes the image restoration process and thereby achieve faster restoration speeds. The proposed algorithm will run on SGI Altix cluster and the initial results/Simulation on cluster makes us believe that the final application developed will result in a robust solution to this problem under cluster environment. We also believe that the proposed algorithm will also give us a good anticipated speed up as compared to the existing solutions.
