DEVELOPMENT OF A MYOELECTRIC HAND PROSTHESIS USING A DIGITAL CONTROL SYSTEM BASED ON THE MOTOR FUNCTION OF A HUMAN HAND

The propose of this study was to develop a new type of hand prosthesis which sirnulated dynamic properties of th ¢ neuromuscular control system of the human hand. This hand consists oi a mechani-cal hand (one degree of freedom), a processing unit for surface electrc)myographic (EMG) signals, and a digital servo system ef the DC motor. EMG signa] was used as a control signal for opening and closing and of stretch reflex varied with prosthesis
