Since the last International Workshop held in Hamburg in 1987, significant developments have occurred in the transit scheduling field. Transit companies around the world are relying more and more on sophisticated software to cut costs, reduce schedule preparation time, enhance the jobs of scheduling officers and provide better information and improved service to the public.
