A GRA-based network selection mechanism in heterogeneous wireless networks

Aiming at working out the shortage of the maximum load balance (MLB) based access selection algorithm in heterogeneous wireless networks, grey relational analysis (GRA) based access selection algorithm is proposed. The network state preferences are calculated for real-time when users access. The result is handed with the method of grey relational analysis combined with fixed users' preferences to choose optimal network scientifically. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can decrease packet blocking probability and packet loss rate, as well as improve user satisfaction when compared to MLB.
