A Model of a System With Stream and Elastic Traffic

This paper presents a multi-service model of a communications system with stream and elastic traffic. The idea of the model is based on an analysis of a two-dimensional Markov process, which approximates the real process in the considered system. Such an approach allows us to describe the use of system resources by stream and elastic traffic with high accuracy. An appropriate simulation model has been developed and implemented in order to verify the proposed model. The presented results have confirmed the validity of all the theoretical assumptions adopted in the study.
