PROTOCOLS TO INTEGRATE URBAN WATER DATA WITH ENERGY AND OTHER URBAN SECTORS WITHIN AURIN

This paper describes a collaborative research project between CSIRO and the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) that integrated urban water and energy data within a national e-infrastructure portal, the AURIN portal. The project developed national protocols to support water and energy supply and consumption datasets that were incorporated from a range of data custodians. The data custodians included state and federal agencies as well as a number of water and energy utilities. The project has demonstrated how key national datasets can be linked with water and energy data through the AURIN portal. Further work is on-going to establish further data services via the protocols with new partners to increase the number of data custodians who are collaborating with the AURIN.
